The Revolution in Surface Finishing

Under the brand name PermaSkin®, a complete system for finishing three-dimensional construction elements, is now available from BASF for the first time – as an alternative to conventional labor – intensive and costly wet coatings.

Parts such as, for example, doors or window shutters made of all kinds of materials like wood, metal, plastic or composites are coated with a film made from BASF’s Luran® S (ASA) using an innovative process technology.

The complete system solution saves money and time:

Aside from the plastic film, BASF also supplies the adhesive, the machine and the brand license for PermaSkin®. BASF provides the customer with the coating machine, no costly capital investments are necessary in order to switch over from conventional coating to PermaSkin®.

When PermaSkin® is used for coating, the first step is to spray the adhesive onto the component.

In the coating machine, the film is subsequently pulled over or even under the object and then laminated.

Drying or curing phases as well as an intermediate polishing step of the type used in coating operations are no longer necessary.

Another plus point: the process is absolutely solvent-free.
